Folks,

I need to point out a few things with regards to the care of our equipment
in the Fencing Salle.
I've noticed some issues over the past few weeks.

- The club banner is NEVER to be dragged on the floor. The banner was
donated to us from our affiliates at the University of Fukuoka and is very
expensive. It can not be wash by machine so it would be very expensive to
get cleaned professionally.
More importantly we need to take pride in it and handle it appropriately.

- It is the responsibility of everyone to ensure that all equipment is put
away after use. That includes punching bags, first aid kit, Sensei's shinai
etc.

- It is the responsibility of all members to ensure that the storage box is
locked at the end of class.

- The stoage box cover can not be allowed to fall down when you open it as
it will damage the hinges (they are already bent).

- Dirty towels can not remain on the floor. (Moyo I will chat with you
regarding a better solution for bringing the towels to and from.)

- Take pride in our dojo and take care of our equipment. This will ensure
that we have a proper training space for years to come.

- When we wash the club floor everyone needs to partake especially the kyu
belts. You should think of this task as a priviledge not a penance. Some
of us have been doing this for years so don't be surprised when I say that
you have to put in your time. Think of it as a constant rite of passage.

If you have any questions on the above issues email or talk to me after
class.

Train hard!
Chris
