Forgot to send this last night:
To all those volunteering in the SAC Clubs Carnival tomorrow; Here is a
list of some frequently asked questions:
1. Do you need to know karate already to join?
No. You don't need any previous karate experience. A lot
of beginners join and try out karate in the fall.
2. Do I need a karate uniform?
No. If you want to try out some classes just come in comfortable
workout clothes (track pants/shorts, t-shirt...). If you decide
you want join the club you can buy a uniform later if you wish.
3. How much does it cost?
$45 per semester (Semesters are: Sep-Dec, Jan-Apr, May-Aug) and
there is an annual Karate Ontario fee of $30 ($60 for black belts)
*** Very Important: tell everyone there is a free 2-week trial
period ***
People can come try out classes absolutely free for 2 weeks
before
deciding if they'd like to join.
Occasionally you run into someone who for some misguided reason
thinks
our costs are unreasonable. If that happens just point out that most
commercial dojos charge $50 to $60 per *MONTH* compared to our $45
for
and entire semester. By contrast we offer exceptional value:
excellent
instruction by experienced teachers at a very reasonable price.
4. When/Where are classes?
Starting Sept 9th our classes are at the Athletic Centre at
Spadina/Harbord
Tue: 8:30-10:30 PM
Wed: 9:00-10:30 PM
Fri: 7:00-9:00 PM
Sat: 12:00-2:00 PM
Make sure to mention it's PM. Last year some people thought the
times were in the morning.
5. Website?
The easiest way to direct people to our site is to tell them to
go to Google.com and search for "U of T Karate Club". That's easier
to remember than the actual URL for our site (utkc.sa.utoronto.ca).
That's it. See you tomorrow for the carnival
