Last call for competitors for the IWATA CUP (April 26th 2009)   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #1501 of 1606 |
Hey UTKC members,

This is the last call for members who are interested in competing for the IWATA
CUP hosted by KARATE-DO SHITO-KAI CANADA. It will be on April the 26th and will
be at Etobicoke Olympium, 590 Rathburn Road. The tournament will be $40 dollars
and spectators can come to watch for $5 dollars.

The tournament will have the same divisions as Karate Ontario with Novice
(White-Orange), Intermediate (Green-Brown) and Black. However, there are
differences in the rules for kata and kumite.

For kata, top four competitors have to perform a 2nd kata in all divisions and
for kumite, it will 2 minutes stop time and not run time (which just basically
means the sparring matches are longer).

I will be sending out the applications out hopefully by this Thursday so please
let me know immediately.

The website for more information is:
http://www.shitoryu.org/events/IwataCup_2009/iwata_cup_2009.htm

Thank you everyone and please let me or Adam know if you require additional
clarification.

See you guys all in class.

Cheers,
Jimmy
