Hey UTKC Members,

This is your friendly tournament director here to remind you about
two very special karate events. Sorry for the long email in advance.

1st Event:

On June 8th, there will be a Toronto Open 3 Karate tournament by
Karate Ontario at Humber College (205 Humber College Blvd). It is 40
dollars for all belts including black and the rules are the same for
any KO tournament. The interesting aspect about this competition is
that anyone can join even if the club is not registered by KO. If
you would like to compete please refer to the application package
(link below) and give me your form and MONEY (very important ;p) by
May 24th.

2nd Event:

On June 14th, it will be our annual Jinbukai tournament with our
sister club, Goulding. This is a tournament that I believe everyone
should participate in as it is hosted by us and would be
disappointing if only a few of us compete. If you have been
practicing with us for the past two terms (all levels including
black) and especially the ones going for grading near the end of the
month, it is a great opportunity to show off those skills. It will
be 10 dollars to compete and I promise you that my other co-director,
Adam and I will be bugging everyone in class to ask which activity
you are competing in (Kata, Kumite or both).

In addition to this, we are also selling baked goods or other edible
items for this tournament. This is a great way to increase our funds
in the club which helps keep the cost of activities like training
camps low.

For this event, I REALLY NEED volunteers to help out during the
competition especially for the selling and baking. If you can help
out, please email me or Adam as soon as possible so I can start
emailing our partners at Goulding.
