This term's kyu belt grading test is still scheduled for Friday
January 26th (This Friday!) from 7:30PM to 9:30PM in the Fencing Salle
of the Athletic Centre. Due to the grading test, class is cancelled
this Friday. The grading test will be divided into two sections.
Novices (white, yellow and orange belts) will be testing from 7:30PM
to 8:30PM. Intermediates (green, blue and brown belts) will be
testing from 8:30PM to 9:30PM. For those of you who have graded
before, you know the drill, but here are a few good pieces of advice
for those of you not familiar with the grading test process.
1. Be on time for your grading! Testing will begin precisely at the
times I specified above. Nobody is going to wait for you if you are
late.
2. There will be no formal warm up before the grading, so you will
have to get warmed up yourself. I would advise showing up at least an
hour before your grading test so that you can change and get warmed
up. The grading test room itself will not be open, so you will have
to find somewhere else around the AC to get warmed up.
3. Be sure to follow proper grading test etiquette (similar to proper
dojo etiquette) while grading. If you don't know what proper grading
etiquette is, visit the official UTKC website and look up that section
in our club handbook.
Good luck to all grading test challengers.
