CARSON, Calif. (Tuesday, April 1, 2008) – The LA Galaxy's quest for
a third Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup title will begin on Tuesday, May 27
when they host the Colorado Rapids in an Open Cup Play-In Game at
The Home Depot Center. This game will kick-off at 7:30 p.m. and

game, the Galaxy will then need to win one more Play-In Game,
against a yet to be determined MLS opponent, in order to qualify for
the Third Round of the Open Cup.
This is the second straight year in which the Galaxy will play in an
Open Cup Play-In Game. In 2007, the Galaxy traveled to Columbus and
defeated the Crew 1-0 before beating the New York Red Bulls 3-1 in
extra time at The Home Depot Center to qualify for the Third Round
of the Open Cup, where they were defeated by the Richmond Kickers 1-
0.

reached the Final on two other occasions.
