Baltimore Colts FC to Represent Maryland in U.S. Open Cup

The Baltimore Colts FC advanced to the United States Adult Soccer
Association (USASA) Region 1 round of the U.S. Open Cup after
shutting out Maryland Allyance FC 4-0. Two first half goals by Kyle
Sterling - both on corner kicks servied by Mike Lotocki - got the
Colts rolling. Bill Whittington then made it 3-0 on an assist from
Guil Costa, while Lotocki capped his 2-assist game with a goal of his
own to ice the game by half time.
In addition to this impressive win at this stage of the Open Cup, the
same Colts are also still alive in U.S. Amateur Cup play. The
Maryland finals for that competion will take place March 9th, and
will pit the Colts against Baltimore Bays 91. The winners of the
Maryland qualifiers for both the Open Cup and Amateur Cups advance
against Region I opponents, beginning in mid-April
In other MSSA news, AC United came back to beat Towson Ice 3-1 to
advance to the final of the Stewart Cup. Luke Strutt, JC Cole and
Joe Sladek scored for United. They will await the winner of the other
semifinal between the Colts and Hangover United, which will be
scheduled next month.
