Melvin Tarley Notches One Against MLS Giant D.C. United-Wounding not Slaying
The new Real Salt Lake forward and USOC revelation, Melvin Tarley,
finds the back of the net against DC United in his first MLS league
game. Tarley had scored six goals in U.S. Open Cup games for the
giant-slaying Minnesota Thunder (USL First Division) in this year's
competition. Another familiar DC foe Robert Scarlett (formerly of
Harbour View FC) also suited up and played against DC.
In USOC play, Tarley found the back of the net twice in the Thunder's
6-4 win over Real Salt Lake on July 13 and tallied all four Thunder
goals in the team's 4-1 win over the Colorado Rapids on August 3.
