Winners were St. Louis Steamers goalkeeper Brett Phillips,
Philadelphia KiXX defender Pat Morris, and Philadelphia KiXX forward
John Barry Nusum.

Nusum (pictured here) is a first-time Player of the Week recipient
after totaling four goals and two assists to lead Philadelphia to two
wins over the two-time defending MISL Champion Baltimore Blast.

GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK
Brett Phillips, St. Louis Steamers

Phillips stopped 29 of 35 shots as St. Louis captured its first two
victories of the season with decisions over San Diego and Monterrey.
The 35-year-old goalkeeper stopped 10 of 13 shots in the Steamers' 4-
3 win over the Sockers at the San Diego Sports Arena on Nov. 5. He
then stopped 19 of 22 Monterrey Tigres attempts in the Steamers' 4-3
win at the Savvis Center on Nov. 6. Overall, the Tampa, Fla., native
is 2-1 in the 2004-05 season, with a 4.63 goals-against average that
ranks fifth in the MISL. Phillips' .759 save percentage (44 of 58)
ranks second in the League. He is also third among goalkeepers in
minutes played (181:26). Phillips began his professional indoor
soccer career with the Harrisburg Heat in the 1992-1993 season. He
also helped the Baltimore Blast win the MISL Championship during the
2002-2003 season. Phillips was honored as the MISL's Goalkeeper of
the Week once during the 2003-04 season (Feb. 23), and was named the
MISL Goalkeeper of the Month in February.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Pat Morris, Philadelphia KiXX

Morris was instrumental in leading Philadelphia to a two-game sweep
of the two-time defending MISL Champion Baltimore Blast. The three-
time MISL All-Star and three-time All-MISL honoree totaled two goals
and six blocks as the KiXX defeated their Eastern Division rival by
scores of 8-7 (Nov. 5), and 6-5 (Nov. 6), to improve to 3-0. Morris
scored single goals in each game, and had a season-high four blocks
in Philadelphia's victory on Nov. 5. Through three games, the
Philadelphia, Penn., native is tied for the MISL lead in blocks
(nine), and is tied for 10th in points (six, five goals and one
assist). The 27-year-old is in his sixth season with the KiXX. Morris
was honored as the MISL's Defensive Player of the Week three times in
the 2003-04 season (Dec. 29, Jan. 12, Feb. 9) and was also named the
MISL Defensive Player of the Month on two occasions (Jan., Feb.).
This week's Defensive Player of the Week award is Morris' second of
2004-05. He was previously honored on Oct. 25.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
John Barry Nusum, Philadelphia KiXX

Nusum was a major player in Philadelphia's two victories over
Baltimore, as he totaled four goals and two assists in helping the
KiXX improve to 3-0. The KiXX rookie, and native of Devonshire,
Bermuda, had one goal and one assist in Philadelphia's 8-7 win at
Baltimore's 1st Mariner Arena on Nov. 5. The next night (Nov. 6),
Nusum scored the game-winner while also leading all scorers and
earning his first MISL hat trick with three goals and one assist in
the KiXX' 6-5 victory at Philadelphia's Wachovia Spectrum. The 23-
year-old forward is tied for fifth-place in the MISL in points
(seven). He is tied for the KiXX' lead in points (seven) and goals
(five), and has been credited with two blocks. Nusum is the all-time
leading scorer at Furman University (65 goals, 161 points). More
recently, he's played soccer for the Atlanta Silverbacks (2002-2003)
and the Toronto Lynx (2004) of the A-League.
