I thought this information about memberships and the requirements for membership submission to USDF was extremely helpful and of potential interest to members, even if they are not the membership coordinator for their GMO.
Thanks, Ross!
Happy holidays, everyone!

Roster Chairs:
(PLEASE PRINT AND RETAIN A COPY OF THESE INSTRUCTIONS FOR YOUR RECORDS)Attached you will find your GMO's roster in an excel file to be used for 2006 submissions. If you would like a hard-copy of this roster mailed to you please just respond to this email requesting the print-out. Otherwise, please make any necessary additions or changes to the roster. You will notice that after the USDF number field, there is a blank field titled "STATUS." This is the field for you to use to mark members as either NEW, EDIT, or to leave blank.Following the “STATUS” field is a field named “TYPE.” In this field, you will denote whether a name on the roster is to be entered as Individual, Primary, or Supporting. Please make sure that all Primary Members are directly followed by the Supporting members of that family. Also, keep in mind that a family is defined as members in an immediate family who either live at the same address or who have the same legal address. Please see additional information about USDF Family Membership below. All members on this roster that are NOT current at the time of your submission should be saved by you to use for submission of future updates. Please return to me ONLY the current members to be added to your roster. Also, when making updates to your roster throughout the year, please send in additions ONLY, not full rosters. This roster will be a constant exchange between your club and the USDF office through the current year. If you have any questions or need any assistance in updating or submitting the roster, please do not hesitate to contact me.Membership rosters and dues, and the name of the official USDF contact of each Group Member Organization, are due in the USDF office by March 1. Rosters must be faxed, emailed or USPS postmarked on or before April 1, along with dues, which can be submitted with a credit card number or, if mailed, USPS postmarked on or before April 1, in order to avoid late penalties.New USDF Group Membership Year:As you all know, the 2006 Group Membership year is a shortened year (April 1, 2006 to November 30, 2006) to allow for the conversion to the new year which will run from December 1 to November 30. Dues for the 2006 Group Membership year have been prorated at $11.33 per individual and Primary Family member and $5.33 for Supporting Family members. (NOTE: The new Family Membership Category is OPTIONAL. However, it is in clear violation of USDF By-Laws for any members of your GMO to be left off of the roster on file with USDF)Please keep in mind that this conversion means that you will be submitting rosters to USDF twice during the 2006 calendar year. The original roster submission for the 2006 year (April 1 to November 30) will be due in the office no later than March 1, 2006 just as in the past. The original roster for the 2007 year (December 1 to November 30) will be due in the office no later than November 1, 2006.
New USDF/GMO Family Membership:The new family membership category will be in effect for next year (April 1, 2006). You can elect to offer a family membership within your GMO. You will then report your family memberships to USDF, naming one as primary, at the full dues amount, and all other members within that family as supporting family members, at a greatly reduced amount.KEEP IN MIND THAT, ACCORDING TO USDF BYLAWS, “ALL INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE DUES-PAYING MEMBERS OF THE GROUP MEMBER ORGANIZATION SHALL BE CONSIDERED GROUP MEMBERS OF THE UNITED STATES DRESSAGE FEDERATION.”
Instructions:
1. If you need to add new members who are not on this roster, please add them at the bottom of the list and type "NEW" in the status field.2. If a member listed on this roster is active for the 2006 GM Year, and has had no change to their contact information, you may leave the status field BLANK.3. If a member is not active for the 2006 GM Year, please type "NA" in the status field and keep in your list to be used for submissions of updates throughout the year.4. If you need to edit any part of an individual's information please type "EDIT" in the status field of active members. This will help to reduce the amount of duplicate records created and keep USDF Member information up to date. (Also, please BOLD the edited fields)<<DDE (418).xls>>Sincerely,
