EquiFest of Kansas 2006

A Horse Lover’s Paradise!

First-class clinicians, exhilarating equine entertainment, dazzling demos, and a terrific trade show will be the hallmarks of EquiFest of Kansas 2006. The equine festival, now in its ninth year, will be held February 24 through the 26, 2006, at the Kansas Coliseum in Wichita, Kansas.

Headlining EquiFest 2006 will be: Chris Cox teaching Chris Cox Horsemanship; Curt Pate featuring Low Stress Horsemanship; Michael Richardson, promoting Harmony Between Horses And Humans, Peggy Cummings presenting Connected Riding ®; Alexsandra “Sandy” Howard conducting Dressage clinics ; Judith Cross-Strehlke teaching Jumping; Larry Whitesell offering Gaited Horsemanship; and Sherman Tegtmeier giving Reining clinics.

The Tommy Lucia Review will provide exciting entertainment at EquiFest, featuring his highly trained palomino, “Mr Versatility”, and “Whiplash, the Cowboy Monkey”. Tommy Lucia is a premier entertainer and performer, but is also one of America’s leading animal trainers. When “Whiplash, the Cowboy Monkey” rides into the arena, astride a Border Collie mount, decked out in his finest cowboy duds with custom-made saddle, the audience is assured of a fun, fast paced and incredibly unique performance. With the aid of Tommy Lucia and his highly trained sheep dog, “Whiplash” rounds up a herd of wild sheep, while keeping the audience in stitches with his unpredictable antics.

Chris Cox will also provide his own brand of special entertainment at EquiFest. With an awe-inspiring combination of skill and artistry, Chris and his horse will synchronize music and moves…an adventure that produces jaw-dropping inspiration of the partnership between man and horse.

Lise Streit, Executive Director of the Kansas Horse Council expressed her enthusiasm for this year’s event, “EquiFest of Kansas is proud to provide family fun for horse lovers and horse owners everywhere! We’ve lined up a super collection of first-rate clinicians and lecturers, appealing to all riding disciplines. And we’re very excited about this year’s entertainment at EquiFest! We also offer a full house of vendors providing unmatched variety in shopping for equine products.”

Filling an entire building, the EquiFest trade show offers horse trailers, tack, feed, clothing, equipment, gifts and countless products and services for horse fans.

Back by popular demand, and always a crowd pleaser, the Purina Mills Buckaroo/Buckarette Stick Horse Rodeo, will be held for the youngsters, on Saturday evening.
