Subject: [GMOPrez] More Council/Committee responses
Hello AllI have some more updates as to activities of the various USDF Councils and Committees that you may find interesting. So far the only issue that will require a vote is that of our four major officers, who are running unopposed at this time. Remember however, that nominations may be made from the floor during the Convention. These bits of information are not official reports, which will be issued after the meetings at the Convention, but are an update as to activities of the various groups.ADULT EDUCATION COUNCIL, Cindy Dix, ChairThey have been working on guidelines for putting on a Ride-a-Test clinic that will help GMOs host this type of clinic that will be eligible for Adult Education grant money.COMPETITION MANAGEMENT COUNCIL, Kathy Moffitt, ChairThis Council has finished rewriting and updating the USDF Show Biz book for show managers. It now awaits the final steps that will lead to publication. This should be of tremendous help to those unfamiliar with planning USDF rated shows. Also, don't miss out on their presentation at the Convention on manager and secretarial duties, as well as how to run a successful, efficient show. You may even submit questions prior to the session that they will address. They are hoping to make this a presentation available to all nine regions in the future. In addition, it should be noted that USEF is in the process of reorganizing the rule book and getting rid of duplicate rules and conflicting ones, which should make it easier for everyone to comprehend.GMO COUNCIL Sherry Guess, ChairThe only unusual duty for this year was to explore the possibility of simulcasting a GMO Educational session from the Convention. From the options explored at this time, it appears that this would be price prohibitive.BYLAWS COMMITTEE, Elizabeth Clarke, Chair equinebiz@...The Chair encouraged anyone who would not be able to attend the Convention to email her with any issue they would like to see addressed.HISTORICAL COMMITTEE, Anne Moss, ChairThe Committee has been encouraged by the number of GMOs who have responded with information and club displays to be used at the USDF Convention this fall. They are also working on creating a simple form for GMOs to use to record pertinent information about their club each year. Their goals is to get a complete history of each GMO on file and keep it updated annually.
