Bismarck, ND Youth Wins Canadian National Equestrian Honors
At the 48th Annual Canadian National Arabian & Half Arabian Championship
Horse Show, held August 22 - 27 at Regina Exhibition Park, Sask. Mimi
Stanley won 3 Top Ten & 2 Reserve National Championship Awards. This
international event offered 147 classes with 1,834 plus entries.
Sixteen year old Mimi & her two Arabians, PR Merrylegs & EA Cygnus,
competed in dressage 1st, 2nd, 4th & Prix St George level against
amateur & professionals from all across the USA & Canada. Dressage
requires memorization of complex patterns that are to be ridden with
bold precision. Mimi practices year round sometimes riding as many as 6
horses per day to stay in shape. While she is coached by her mother &
professional trainer, she also attends many clinics to learn from USDF
regional & international instructors. Mimi is the daughter of Curt &
Karla Stanley of Bismarck, ND.
