Re: [KansasCityDressageSociety] Wild horse info...
Dear Ann,
Thank you for this very enlightened background. I am sure that the admendment that was buried and added to another bill that was signed is another problem of how bills are passed in our government. No one knew until the last minute that it had been placed there. Not only should concerned citizens protest the wild horse admendment but the way in which time after time these things happen. I believe if enough people keep protesting and also keep voicing their outrage, this admendment may be able to be retracted. When I was first aware of the whole thing the bill was to be signed and there was not enough time to protest. I believe through the internet much protesting can be registered. There can be other solutions as you have suggested for the horses and the expenses.
I was told by email how to protest the bill when it was too late. However, where could we keep protesting? I erased that email. Now I am sorry that I did. I think that we need to keep letting Washington and all the powers that be know of our disgust about this admendment and especially how it was passed.
I am sure there are different opinions about this admendment, but I greatly resent that there was no time given for discussion, as it was really hidden and tacked on at the last minute if I am correct. There was no time to discuss other solutions. Of course use of rangeland is the real issue. As citizens we need to keep letting our voices be heard. I will try to get back to this and if some of the others of you know how best we can continue to protest let us all know.
It is has been nice to have a very real discussion about this. That is important, whether we believe one way or another, we must use discussion to help people decide and become more educated. That is one of the uses of this email group and others. It has been interesting to read all the comments. Now is there some action we can do to follow up on our beliefs?
Linda
