USEF and USDF have rules that are sent to show management for compliance before the shows take place. At the convention and through committees the decisions are made. Fines had to be put in place because so many shows were not fulfilling their obligations for USDF to be able to determine awards to be given to individuals. When the results are sent to USDF , the organization has to check all the information to be certain it is correct, all the numbers. As they are receiving literally thousands of entries, this takes more time than one show reporting to USDF. I strongly urge any of you with ideas of how this process could be improved to come to the convention, or contact the chairman of the various committees that are involved. USDF hates to fine anyone and hates to discourage any shows, but if the show is not in compliance with the rules that the show receives before the show takes place, USDF has no other choice. Otherwise shows have just ignored the rules. These are now also on the website as are all our policies and procedures.
Remember, suggestions are always welcome. The committees are structured through the regions and there are open discussions at the convention and often heated ones before votes and motions are voted on and presented. Any individual or GMO can become part of the discussions and decisions. That is what is good about USDF. Anyone can become involved and your imput is sought and desired.
Competition Management committee meetings will take place and in those meetings discussions will be held anyone can engage in.
I hope many of you will be at the convention in Lexington and help work through improvements for all areas of our organization.

The fact that so many forms are being left incomplete or filled out incorrectly also suggests that there might also be a problem with the forms themselves. Meg...
