That's a real bummer losing a sailing site. Hopefully things will get
back together quickly for you all down there.
Up here in the midwest we had a windy 2008 summer on Lake Erie. Lots
of 12-15 mph sessions this season which were perfect sailing
conditions for the 8.5 Comp sail on a Mistral Prodigy.
Only a couple new Prodigies were sold in my local Toledo Ohio area
this summer that I know of. Unfortunately neither got the Comp sail
but both do race occasionally. The local economy in the Toledo area
is down big time so it's no surprise people are not spending their
extra cash. Some good news was I again gave about 30 people lessons
over the summer.
In 2009 with three newish longboards out on the market: the Exocet
Warp 380, Starboard Phanton 380 and now the Mistral Equipe III I'm
hopeful there will be a revival in longboard racing along with
renewed interest in windsurfing raceboards of all types. I wonder
if the North Prodigy/Comp 8.5 sail and Equipe III would be a good one
design class combination?
