After a Break: Need a Break?

"Need a break? Take a …(toot)". And so goes a commercial about a chocolate bar. We

ask you the same thing: Do you need a break from your work? Kung gayon, makinig

kayo ngayon sa ating Protips dahil ang ating pag-uusapan ay ang tungkol sa

pagkakaroon ng break sa pagtatrabaho.

 

Kailangan nating lahat ng pahinga mula sa pagtatrabaho. Kung hindi natin ipapahinga

ang ating katawan at isip, bibigay ang mga ito. If you don’t give yourself a break, you

will have a breakdown. So give yourself a break. And a break need not happen only

once a year, tulad ng isang engrandeng bakasyon. You can actually take a break from

your work everyday. Here's how:

 

Una, take advantage of your coffee breaks and lunch breaks. Coffee and lunch

breaks are meant to give you comfort. Panahon yan para makakain kayo at kapag

nakakain, babalik ang lakas at sigla nyo sa pagtatrabaho. Ang lunch break ay panahon

din para makaidlip kahit mga 20 minutes lang. Or if you're the more sociable type, a

lunch break could be a good time for you para makipagkuwentuhan sa mga kaibigan at

katrabaho. Ang pag-idlip o pakikipagkuwentuhan ay mga gawaing makakapagparelax

sa inyo.

 

Pangalawa, don't bring your work at home. Maaaring may mga pagkakataon na

kailangang-kailangan mong tapusin ang isang trabaho kaya itutuloy mo ito sa bahay.

Pero huwag mong gawing habit ang pagdadala ng trabaho sa inyong tahanan. Imagine,

kung walong oras kang nagtatrabaho sa labas, at pagdating mo sa bahay ay

magtatrabaho ka na naman, wala ka na ngang break. Your home is your refuge and

castle. It's a palce where you can rest and unwind, so make sure you rest when you're

at home. Kung sa bahay ka naman nagtatrabaho, siguraduhin mo pa ring may panahon

ka sa pamamahinga sa loob ng iyong tahanan.

 

Pangatlo, do something different from your usual work. If the nature of your work

is mental, during your spare time do the opposite. Kung sa iyong pagtatrabaho ay mas

madalas mong gamitin ang iyong utak sa pag-iisip, pagpaplano, pagcocompute,

paglutas ng problema at iba pang katulad na gawain, iwasan mo naman ang mga ito sa

panahon ng iyong pamamahinga. Do something physical instead. Relax your mind by

watching a good movie or by enjoying a nice scenery. Kung sa trabaho mo naman ay

panay ang gamit mo ng lakas ng katawan, sa oras naman ng iyong pamamahinga,

gumawa ka ng bagay kung saan ma-cha-challenge ang iyong pag-iisip.

 

Pang-apat at panghuli, plan to go on a trip at least once a year. Plan to be away

from your work place so you can gain a fresh perspective about your work. Puwede

kang magbakasyon sa inyong probinsya, o mag-overnight stay sa isang resort. Or

maybe you can go to a prayer mountain or retreat house and seek God. Spending time

with God refreshes your soul and prepares you to face greater challenges at work and

in your personal life.
