PLANT COURTESY IN THE WORKPLACE
Protips written by Maloi Salumbides

Naaalala nyo pa ba yung folk song natin na “magtanim ay di biro, maghapong
nakayuko.” Talagang mahirap ang magtanim. Nakakapagod talaga. Pero if we
want to harvest something in the future, we should invest time and effort
planting today. Ano ang dapat nating itanim sa workplace natin para maging
maayos ito at maging kapakipakinabang ang ating oras sa opisina. One of the
important seeds that we should plant in the workplace is the seed of courtesy.

If we want more courteous environment in the workplace, dapat magsimula sa
atin. Magtanim tayo o magpunla ng mga binhi ng kabutihan sa ating opisina.
Let me share with you insights from Zig Ziglar’s Life Lifters. Ang sabi niya, “A
pleasant smile and a good attitude make a big difference in the workplace.
Reasearch shows that if everybody read newspaper comic strips before they
leave home and listen to some recorded jokes, inspirational tapes or soothing
music as they drive, they would arrive in the workplace in a better frame of
mind.”

There is really a lot of value in what the apostle Paul says in Philippians 4:8. Ang sabi niya, “My friends keep your minds on whatever is true, pure, right, holy,
friendly and proper. Do not ever stop thinking about what is truly worthwhile
and worthy of praise." It is very important that we plant noble and pure
thoughts and pleasing thoughts in our minds if we want our behavior or our
actions to be characterized as such.

Ano pa ang sinabi ni Zig Ziglar. Isang lesson na kanyang natutuhan buhat sa kanyang nanay ay ito – “Everybody can’t be the smartest person in town but all of us can be courteous and considerate of the other person. A little courtesy mixed in with a pleasant smile and a cheerful attitude will diffuse a lot of people with short fuses.” Tandaan, courtesy could help you avoid serious problems, secure your job and bring a promotion as well.

What is our lesson for today? According to Zig Ziglar, common courtesy benefits everyone and enriches our personal and professional lives. Ang golden rule na kailangang balik-balikan natin – “Treat others like you want to be treated. It is the best human relations rule known to man.”

Totoo ang magtanim ay di biro, ang magtanim ng kabutihan sa inyong opisina ay
magreresulta sa hindi birong ani ng kagandahan at kabutihan na hindi mo pagsisisihan.

Be a blessing in the workplace today.
