SUGGESTIONS ON HOW TO AVOID PROCRASTINATION

Isa sa mga resources na kailangang-kailangan nating imanage ng maayos ay
ating oras dahil limitado ang oras. Ilang oras ba meron sa isang araw, hindi ba
24 lang naman. Kaya, kinakailangang ayusin natin ang paggamit nito.

How do we manage our time wisely? Isa sa mga kalaban ng time management ay ang procrastination o ang pagpapaliban ng mga bagay na pwede naman nating gawin ngayon. Anu-ano ang mga paraan para maiwasan ang procrastination para makapag-create tayo ng momentum at maovercome natin ang tendency na ipagpabukas ang mga bagay na pwedeng gawin ngayon.

I would like to share with you some tips from the book, “The 15-Minute Organizer“ by Emilie Barnes. Heto ang kanyang mga suggestions kung papaano natin maiiwasan ang procrastination.

1. Recognize the futility of procrastination as a way of living.
Hindi ba kapag palagi tayong naproprocrastinate nafrufrustrate tayo. Nakakapagod din ang ipagpabukas yung mga bagay na alam natin kailangan nating tapusin ngayon. Recognize that it is a futile exercise to procrastinate and it is an inefficient way of spending our time and of living.

2. Kung ikaw ay masyadong na-ooverwhelm sa laki ng trabaho na kailangan
mong tapusin, why do not you break down overwhelming tasks into
small tasks.

Try to limit them to 5- to 10-minute tasks. Halimbawa, mayroon kang kailangang gawing research napakamatrabaho o napakamasalimuot, gawin natin katayin natin. Cut them down into bite sizes para hindi tayo nabibilaukan sa dami ng trabaho. Break them down into smaller and manageable tasks.

3. Face unpleasant tasks squarely.
Ignoring unpleasant tasks does not make them go away. Hindi porke hindi natin ginagawa ang isang bagay naglalaho na lamang iyan na parang bula. Nandiyan pa rin yan, nakatitig sa iyo, tinatawag ang atensyon mo para gampanan ang kailangang gampanan. Not doing it today only ensures that you will feel equally
burdened about it tomorrow. Mas lalo lang tumatambak ang mga kailangan mong tapusin at gawin kinabukasan. So, you have to face unpleasant tasks squarely.

4. Do a start-up task.
Pick up one or two of those instant tasks from #2 (break down overwhelming tasks into smaller tasks). Pumili ka ng isa or dalawa na mga pwede mong gawin sa mga listahan na isinulat mo na o nagawa mo na and begin to work on those. Just get started.

5. Take advantage of your moods.
If there are tasks you do not feel like doing today, find those tasks that you feel like doing today and take advantage of your moods. Get started. Merong mga bagay na ganoon hindi ba, may mga bagay na gusto nating gawin agad-agad, meron namang mga bagay na gusto nating ipagpaliban. So take advantage of
your moods kung ano iyong nais mong gawin ngayon which will get you started, iyon ang simulan mong harapin at iyon ang simulan mong gawin.

What are the things in the workplace or in your job that you do not want to face today. Huwag ipagpaliban dahil tatambak lamang iyan sa mga responsibilidad mo kinabukasan.
