If the plan is to put team logo's on them, then I am strongly against it
It is pointless when the NZFDA sends the team, the logo will repeat, if you
decide not to reprint when the logo doubles up then you have defeated your
whole point as teams competing overseas will not be on your flag...
As I said earlier, the money can be spent better elsewhere..

Subject: [upc-international] WUCC Support
NZ Representative Teams in the past have received financial support of some
sort from the NZFDA (now the UPCs role). The only support that has been
requested for the teams attending WUCC has been towards the purchase of the
flags which have been discussed. Some have suggested that this is not the
best use of funds - however as any amount which can be used to support
overseas teams is always going to be small I think that whatever funding we
give should be something which is visible and benefits the whole team. As
there has not been any other suggestions I would say that the flags are a
good way to do this. If anyone has any better ideas then I'd love to hear
them.
If there is no further input for this discussion then I will be putting the
motion to the UPC to vote on that
"The UPC purchase 2 flags (black with silver fern) which are each printed
with the logos of Pukana & Sweet As. The flags shall remain the property of
the NZFDA and be lent to international teams in the future. The cost of the
flags & printing shall not exceed $200."
Any input on this prior to the motion being put forward should be received
by 5pm, Friday 12th July.
Rachel
