I could not disagree more! Is it better not to participate at all than
to participate and come last?

If we have enough willing men left over after selecting a mixed team
then why not let them play - even if only as a development opportunity?
Heck - that is probably a better motive than respecting some 'earned'
seeding.

Now, I doubt there'd be a lot of interest in such a 'development only'
type team - especially with the amount of $$s involved, but ... I've
been wrong in the past. I think ;-)

PS. The same rationale applies equally to the women - if there are
enough left over and they want to play - good for them. Of course,
that seems even less likely just due to the fewer numbers we have...
