lthough it would be a lot of fun and a great
trip, I cannot picture myself driving to the U.P. of
Mighigan in the dead of winter to see any hockey game. I
hope you have a great time and represent us
well!

GO MAVS!!!

will be there also....and, No, I won't forget
my whistle and cowbell either! This should be a fun
trip for all of the UNO fans. I hope we can go in
there and show them what kind of following the Mavs
have. Come on everyone, It's a 4-1/2 hour road trip!
Get up there and support the team!

ust wondering if anyone was going to make the
trip up to Mankato in March to watch the Mavs. I know
the Blue Line Club is taking a bus load up there and
you can also get tickets through Ticketmaster. I will
be there with my Union Pacific whistle and cowbell
in hand.

Go Mavs!!!!!!!

fter watching UNO the past couple of weeks, I
think the team is starting to come together at the
right time and hopefully can carry it over into next
year.

Carr and White really compliment each
other well. Noel-Bernier is outstanding one on one.
Hoggan is a force on the ice and after seeing that
beautiful pass he made to Bernier in Saturday nights game I
think you will start seeing a lot more offense out of
that line.

Pugliese and Cupp are starting come
on again towards the end of the season.

What
I guess I am trying to say is, all of these guys
are going to be here for two and three more years and
with addition of Zanon and Jensen next year, lookout
CCHA the stampede is on the way.

GO

he speed conversation going on here is excellent
but you also must consider the players agility and
the moves that he can make handling the puck. A great
example of this is David Noel-Bernier. He may not be the
fastest player on the team but if he is one-on-one with
anybody, I will take him every time. He has a knack of
putting the puck in the net when a one-on-one situation
arises. I guess what I am saying is that it is great to
have fast players but they have to be able to handle
the puck also. If a fast player is out of control
with the puck he is not of much value. The Mavs have
done an excellent job of recruiting speed and agility.

also agree that the mavs have done a tremendous
job recruiting....we should see the results in a
couple of years....my point was that i believe we need a
difference maker....i think carr has some of the best
passing skills i have ever seen...but after that it
starts to taper off....i love hoggans physical style of
play and in fact he has become mine and my daughter's
favorite player...i just think they need some depth at
speed...but, hell i will admit i have never laced em up so
maybe i am a little crazy....i look forward to the next
couple of recruiting classes and watching hoggan, carr,
o'keefe, glover and the rest mature into
seniors....GOMAVS!!!!!!

for one think Coach Kemp and the rest of the
staff are doing a tremendous job of recruiting. Lets
remember that we are talking about a program that is just
finishing up its second season and despite a record that
might indicate it slipped back a notch I think the
talent level jumped significantly from the first year.

Also it is not simply a matter of speed. You have also
got to be able to anticipate the actions of your
teammates so you can use the speed to get to a spot. That
takes time. I think we can see that happening with Carr
and White this past month and the others will come
around in time.

n response to the post saying UNO needs more
speed and thus should recruit faster skaters is that i
can only say if they arent already recruiting fast
skaters then what the hell are they recruiting.Niagra
might have just appeared faster because they had the
fresher legs on that given night. Even NHL teams can pull
stupid moves by drafting the 6'5 250 pound giant idiot
who could never cut in the higher leagues but i
believe UNO is doing a fine job recruiting not only the
best players possible but ones who can skate both
ways. MH#79

agree with all of you that I think the Mavs
played possibly their best game ever! The speed of
Niagara Friday night was far to much for the Mavs. The
extra effort and solid forechecking made the difference
Saturday night. The players should be proud of the turn
around they made in 24 hours. I hope they realize that
if they played with that intensity each ight they
would be hard to beat by anyone.

All of the
ideas you have posted are wonderful and believe it or
not I think some people are listening! I started to
hear Moo's last night and the cowbells are slowly
showing up. I still would love to hear 8,000+ cowbells
ringing at the same time! Let's get it done!

I
think last nights crowd may have been the best and
loudest ever. The fans were very appreciative of the
players efforts and rewarded them well!

GO

awhide is a good theme; however, its about
branding steers isn't it?.....we don't want no damn
brand.......roll em roll em roll em...get those doggies
rolling.....don't try to understand them just rope tie and brand
them.. rawhide! that sounds like something the
opposition would play....anyway...it was a great game on
saturday...hopefully the mavs will sign some recruits with some
speed...something we have been sorely missing this year....we don't
have a difference maker like last year (torterella,
dummy should have stayed in school)....and unless we
can get someone like that it could be a long year
next season in our inaugural ccha year...what does
everyone else think?....GOMAVS!!

for UNO if they ever get a third uniform, those black

fter the debacle that was Friday nights game the
game tonight was a very gutsy effort. The mavs
actually looked like they belonged on the ice with a
pretty good hockey team. If they continue to skate hard
and smart they will get the breaks in they end. GO

ideas on the chant...i will think from this end...may

he MAVS last three games may be the best they
have played in this young programs life. They seem to
have a lot of confidence which is all they
really
need all along. The fan support was great.
I love
seeing the "Bullpen" full of screaming MAV fans. The
train whistle is a welcome edition. I think everyone
needs to bring cowbells to the game and after the UNO
chant has finished after a UNO goal, everyone should
ring their cowbells and yell some sort of chant at the
opposing teams goalie.

GO MAVS!!!!!!!!!!

he Mavs looked unbeatable this weekend against
Air Force. It was great to see the fans coming back.
It is such a great hockey environment when the place
is full and everyone is on their feet cheering. The
train whistle is a great addition! I want to thank
everyone who has joined the club recently! Keep recruiting
and lets make this an even better place for the fans
to meet!

agree with your message...i think the fans are
getting a little better (comes with winning)....i would
like to see all the fans yell "O" at that part in the
national anthem (o say does that rockets red glare)...i
was at camden yards last year and the oriole fans all
scream "O" when it gets to that part...its pretty
cool....i would also like to throw a nice juicy omaha steak
on the ice whenever we score our third goal against
a ccha team...kinda like the octopus....keep up the
good postings

create a flurry of new opinions and ideas to this
bustling club.A few more messages might liven things up.

was wondering what your ideas are for some fun
things fans can do to be more involved and show their
enthusiasm for the team at the games. I saw some young men
at the RIT series with milk jugs that had coins in
them. When they shook them it was very loud. What new
chants could we use? How about cowbells for noise
makers? (It kind of goes along with the Maverick theme).
I still say we should all Moo instead of Boo! Let
me know your ideas!!

he 1998 Blueline Club Christmas party was a huge
success on Wednesday, December 9th! The members of the
club were able to talk to the players and coaches
personally. In addition, the UNO cheerleaders were on hand
and many gifts were handed out to all that attended.
Coach Kemp broadcast his weekly radio show during the
party and it was very entertaining for all. If you ever
get a chance to head to the Old Chicago restaurant in
the Old Market area on a Wednesday night during
hockey season I highly recommend you go see Coach Kemps
show live. It is very entertaining and informative.

have to admit I was wondering how the Mavs

think the Mavs showed a lot of people this
weekend why the CCHA wanted them and how competitive they
are going to be in league play. If the Mavs can
continue to play with the same intensity as they did
against Michigan State they should when a lot of the
games left on their schedule!
