Doug,
I got all of the paperwork back from the park and we should be good. I even
have the fish and boat permit. They want us to have a dumpster, though.
I'm not sure what one of those will run, but I'll start to look into it.

Happy New Year!
Just wanted to send a note saying that I posted the preliminary 2007
regatta packet to the regatta web site: www.rathburn.net/URA.html
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks, Doug
Doug:
If we are going back to Lake Arthur: since we seem to have people who can ably
handle start/finish line & dockmaster duties, I would be happy to put together
the Pennsylvania regulations for motor launches & disseminate them to whoever
might be bringing launches, to make sure that we don't have a repeat of the
"Great Boat Bust of 2006."
Let me know.

All,
Ben (CMU) and I are working on next year's race. The date is still the
first weekend in April on Sunday the 1st. As usual, I'll be posting
stuff to the regatta web site as it becomes available.
http://www.rathburn.net/URA.html
Thanks, Doug
I hope this message finds you well. I've now posted the feedback forum
for this year's race on the main URA web site: www.rathburn.net/URA.html
This year's race went pretty well. I look forward to your feedback to
make next year's even better. Also, I added some calculations for
average distances to select midwestern sites if we choose to move
venues for next year.
Thanks, Doug
All,
I've posted some photos from the race. If you'd like a CD with the
full resolution images just send me your address. Don't reply to this
email because it'll get posted on the message board.
http://www.rathburn.net/URA.html
Thanks for all your help, and I look forward to next year. I'll be
starting a Feedback Forum for this years race in the next couple weeks
after people have had time to soak.
Doug
All,
The results from the race are now posted. If you notice any
corrections please get them to me ASAP.
http://www.rathburn.net/URA.html
I am also in the process of submitting them to row2k.
Thanks, Doug
I believe I have everyone's requests either in the entry packet
(version 2.2) and/or heat sheets (version 1.5). The versions now
posted on the site should be the latest. Make sure you hit "refresh"
on your browser to see the latest versions. I'm heading to my parents
now and will be in the car and won't be able to post until tomorrow
night. Effectively, all additional changes will have to be handled as
exceptions on the day itself. No big deal really.
Basically, you can print copies of what's posted on the site now.
Travel safely.
Doug
Fill me in on what's discussed at this one. I'll be coming down Sunday AM.

Does switching event 9 (Men's Novice 8 )& 10 (women's novice 4) adversely affect people's plans. There's only two boats in the MN8, and I suspect it'd be an issue for those using the same shell in both races.
If we can swap the order of these two events, it give Chicago a bit more time to hot seat. If I don't hear anything by tomorrow afternoon, I'll assume it's okay.

Does anyone run into a conflict if the pairs are run back-to-back
instead of the 4's. i.e. do you have enough shells to boat all your
pairs at the same time. I would propose:
Event 9: Men's JV/Lt 4
Event 6: Women's Pair
Event 7: Men's Pair
Event 8: Women's JV/Lt 4
Basically keeping the middle block of races the same just switching
the order to hot seat the 4's.
Let me know.

All,
A reminder to bring:
1. Socks, socks, socks = beach launch
2. Warm clothes (forecast in the 50's, but hey, this is rowing)
3. Cell Phones from companies that work in the middle of no where (I
think Verizon worked last year)
4. FRS/GMRS Radios (aka Motorola TalkAbouts (aaka those cool new 2-way
radios)) - I've bought 6, but if you have them, bring them. See note 3
above. I have enough for the key officials, but it's nice if you're a
coach and want to hear what's going on. You can get a decent pair for
$30-50
5. Megaphones - I don't own one. Let me know who's willing to lend to
the cause.
6. Stop Watches - I have a few, but we'll need 'em for the start/finish
7. Cheap USB Printer - I've used my sister-in-laws the last two years,
but she's up and moved away on me. If anyone has a small one that
they may not mind getting wet let me know. My computer will be right
next to it, so it better stay dry.
8. Anything else I'm forgetting. I try to be pretty organized, but
feel free to remind me.
If you bring stuff to share, please make sure it's mark visibly so it
comes back to you.
Thanks again, Doug
Tim from Case asked me to post this:
Case has just made the crew club an erg room on campus, and wants to
decorate it with a couple of wooden oars. Since the boathouse fire
here last August, all of the old wooden macons are either claimed or
gone. Could you put out a shout to the coaches to see if anyone has a
couple for display purposes only, that they would be willing to part
with for, say, $25 - $30 each?
Cleveland had two boathouses, and the one that stored the small boats
and various rowing junk burned down. If you have any wooden oars that
you may want to sell and bring to the race, contact Tim directly by
substituting for the AT and DOT with the correct symbols. The names
have been changed to protect the innocent from the email spammers
amongst us.

Thanks, Doug
Yes, we do have a schedule. I'd like to keep to it as much as possible.
However, I think we may need to slip in a few extra minutes between a couple
fours races to allow smoother hot seating. I'd like to keep the order and
be packing up before noon though.
