Michigan 4, at Bowling Green 2
Quick update...
Michigan overcame a 2-1 deficit to defeat the Falcons at Bowling Green, 4-2.
Kevin Porter scored with 15 seconds left in the opening period to give
the Wolverines a 1-0 lead.
The Falcons responded with two goals in the second period to take the lead.
They held that lead until 4:21 left in the third period when Matt Rust
tied the game from Aaron Palushaj and Carl Hagelin.
With 1:23 left in regulation, Chris Summers--playing his first game
back at the forward position since late last season--netted his first
goal of the season off a Travis Turnbull shot that hit the post to put
the Wolverines ahead, 3-2.
Chad Kolarik would add an empty net goal to secure the victory.
Another strong night in net for Billy Sauer as he stopped 27 shots.
The weekend series wraps up tomorrow night at Yost Ice Arena.
TEDDY BEAR TOSS: Tomorrow night is also the annual Teddy Bear Toss at
Yost. All bears should be wrapped in plastic or the original
container. If you forget to bring one, you can purchase a bear at the
DekerWear booth.
WATCH ONLINE: If you can't make the game, you can watch it online.
Student station WOLV-TV will air the game live online. If you go in
with low expectations, it will suit its purpose. Go to
www.mgoblue.com/icehockey and on the right side, Upcoming Game info
where the audio link is there is also a video link.
Speaking of that web address, the shortcut to the hockey page has
changed back to it's old URL. http://mgoblue.com/icehockey will take
you to the site. The one they had switched to ...
http://mgoblue.com/ice-hockey (with a hyphen) ... will now bring you
to an error page.
SHORTHANDED FOR THE GLI: If you haven't heard by now, Michigan will
once again be shorthanded for the Great Lakes Invitational as four
Wolverines were selected for the World Junior Championship. Max
Pacioretty, Matt Rust, and Chris Summers will represent Team USA,
while Carl Hagelin will suit up for Team Sweden.
One positive note is that freshman center Louie Caporusso is expected
to be back from his injury for the GLI tourney.

That's all for now...
Go Blue!
