The first games are in the books and so far the CCHA is guaranteed at
least one Frozen Four participant.
Notre Dame will face Michigan State in the Midwest Regional final
today after the #1 seed Irish slipped past #4 Alabama-Huntsville 3-2
in late double-overtime. The night game saw Michigan State crush
Boston University, 5-1.
Out in the East Regional, #4 seed UMass knocked out #1 Clarkson, 1-0,
in overtime. Honestly, not as many people are surprised about this as
you would think. And in the game that busted my bracket, #3 Maine
defeated #2 St. Cloud State, 4-1. UMass and Maine will battle for a
spot in the Frozen Four.
Today's game feature Minnesota and Air Force followed by Michigan and
North Dakota in the West Regional, and New Hampshire against Miami
followed by Boston College against St. Lawrence in the Northeast
Regional.
