For the West Regional #2 seed Wolverines to advance to the NCAA Frozen
Four, they will have to possibly go through their two toughest WCHA
foes--#3 North Dakota and the winner of #1 Minnesota vs. #4 Air Force.
The Fighting Sioux have been one of the hottest teams in the nation
since winter break with a 15-3-4 record, losing to Minnesota in the
WCHA championship game, 3-2 in overtime.
The Wolverines and Fighting Sioux will square off Saturday, March 24
at 7:30 p.m. ET, while Minnesota and Air Force meet at 3:30 p.m. ET.
Those games will be held in Denver, Colorado.
As for the rest of the field, the Midwest Regional in Grand Rapids
pits #1 Notre Dame vs. #4 Alabama-Huntsville and #2 Boston University
vs. #3 Michigan State.
The East Regional in Rochester, New York will host #1 Clarkson vs. #4
Massachusetts and #2 St. Cloud vs. #3 Maine.
And the Northeast Regional in Manchester, New Hampshire will see #1
New Hampshire vs. #4 Miami and #2 Boston College vs. #3 St. Lawrence.
The Midwest and East Regionals begin Friday, March 23, while the West
and Northeast start on March 24.
