Quick update from Yost...
As I said last night, a few bounces the other way and the game could
have changed. Tonight, the Northern Michigan hockey team tightened up
their play and came out of Yost Ice Arena with a 2-1 win.
Michigan wasn't as sharp tonight and a bit sloppy with their play.
They still had plenty of chances, including seven power play
opportunities, but couldn't convert.
Northern Michigan junior forward Mike Santorelli scored both goals,
while senior goalie Bill Zaniboni was strong in net turning aside 36
shots. He had his shutout ruined by Andrew Cogliano with 6.5 seconds
left in regulation.
U-M goalie Billy Sauer was solid on the other end making 28 saves for
the Wolverines.
The Wolverines travel to Alaska next weekend for a weekend series with
the Nanooks.
