INJURY UPDATE
Defensemen Jason Dest and Jack Johnson each left Saturday's game at
Western Michigan with shoulder injuries.
According to today's Michigan Daily, Dest suffered a dislocated
shoulder and will be out of action up to a month. Johnson suffered an
undisclosed shoulder injury, however received good news when x-rays
came back negative. He did not practice yesterday and is listed as
day-to-day.
TEDDY BEAR TOSS
This Friday night at Yost Ice Arena is the third annual Teddy Bear
Toss to benefit Mott Children's Hospital. Fans are encouraged to
bring a teddy bear or you can purchase one from the Dekers Club, and
please wrap the bear in plastic before throwing it on the ice to
prevent damage. At the announcer's signal, fans will throw the teddy
bears onto the ice during the first intermission. Members of the
Dekers Club will collect the bears for later distribution in the
community and to patients at Mott Children's Hospital.
TV SCHEDULE
Friday night's game against Notre Dame will also mark the start of
college hockey on Fox Sports Detroit this season. Coverage starts at
7:30 p.m.
And for the two of you who get ESPNU, Sunday's game at Notre Dame will
be broadcast on that rarely found channel. That game is slated to
begin at 3:05 p.m.
WORLD JUNIOR ROLL CALL
Sophomore forward Andrew Cogliano has once again been invited to
partake in Canada's World Junior selection camp from Dec. 10-15.
Unfortunately, it means that Cogliano might be forced to miss this
Sunday's game at Notre Dame.
Cogliano won a gold medal with Team Canada at the 2006 IIHF World
Junior Championship. He had a goal and four assists in six games
while playing mostly as a third line center. As one of the few
returnees, he is expected to make the team again and see his offensive
role increase.
The U.S. team will be announced soon. Jack Johnson and Mark Mitera
are considered locks, and there's an outside chance Chris Summers may
get picked as well.
PORTER NAMED PLAYER OF THE MONTH
Junior forward Kevin Porter was named the RBC Financial Group CCHA
Player of the Month for November. During the month Porter led the
Wolverines in scoring with eight goals and 10 assists in nine games.
Six of those games were multi-point efforts.

That's all for now...
