Michigan State 7, Michigan 4
Another game, another disappointment. The Wolverines jumped out to a
quick 2-0 lead on goals by Kevin Porter and Brandon Naurato, then had
a 3-1 lead (Naurato again) heading into the second period before
totally crash n' burning.
Michigan State scored five unanswered goals, four of which came during
a second period onslaught, en route to a 7-4 victory.
David Rohlfs would score a late third period goal, but it was too
little too late as MSU added an empty netter. The Spartans outshot
the Wolverines 33-21 and were 2-for-5 on the power play while U-M was
1-for-2.
So far this season we have played 30 minutes of real hockey against
Alabama-Huntsville and UConn, defeat Miami one night then take them
for granted the next night, then had a disappointing split against
Northeastern. So how does the team respond from last Saturday's bad
loss? With 20 minutes of hockey tonight. Just awful. I hate to be
so negative so early, but after sitting through this most pattern of
last season, and all the talk of dedication and improvement over the
summer, it's hard to be positive when last season is already repeating
itself.

That's all for now...
