Sophomore forward Tyler Swystun has left Michigan to play in the WHL.
"I don’t think he was ready for the strength and the speed of the
college game, but we were counting on him for an improved year,"
assistant coach Mel Pearson told The Wolverine
(http://michigan.rivals.com).
Having already lost two senior forwards to graduation and Zac MacVoy
and Trevor Lewis over the summer, while only bringing in two forward
recruits, there is some concern about the depth of the front line.
"We have a lot of depth on defense, and I don't think it's impossible
to imagine a scenario where a few of our defensemen see some time at
forward," Pearson said. "Certainly, we feel that Jack Johnson could be
one of the best forwards in all of college hockey, if we decided on
something like that."
