MacVoy leaves Michigan
Freshman forward Zac MacVoy has decided to leave the University of Michigan
hockey team according to today's The Ann Arbor News.
It doesn't come as too much of a surprise as the rumors were floating out there
since the end of the season. It picked up steam earlier this week when the
Omaha Lancers of the USHL selected MacVoy in the second round of the USHL
draft.
MacVoy saw limited action in his first season playing in just 20 games. After
not playing in 12 of the final 15 games, he said he felt that situation
wouldn't change in the coming years and decided it'd be best to depart now. As
much as he loves the University and his teammates, Zac said ultimately his
passion to play rather sit in the stands took precedent.
MacVoy will have to sit out the 2006-07 season under transfer rules. He'll
spend the season playing with Omaha while being re-recruited.

That's all for now...
