MICHIGAN HOCKEY NET
MHNet is undergoing a total makeover and much of the site isn't working yet. The main page, news headlines, and videos section are all up and running. The rest will be over the coming weeks, hopefully.
RED BERENSON SHOW
Tonight's Red Berenson Show is now available at MHNet on the main page under Headlines. This week the Coach talks about the Nebraska-Omaha series, the Great Lakes Invitational, and the World Junior Championships.
GREAT LAKES INVITATIONAL
The Wolverines return to action Thursday night against Colorado College at the Great Lakes Invitational. The puck drops at 8 p.m. ET and can be seen on Fox Sports Detroit.
The Wolverines will be without Jack Johnson, Mark Mitera, Kevin Porter, and Andrew Cogliano, who are away at the World Junior Championships. Defenseman David Rohlfs will also miss the game due to a one game suspension for the fighting penalty he received against Nebraska-Omaha. Berenson announced on his show tonight that Danny Fardig will be playing defense.
U-M will face either Michigan State or Michigan Tech on Friday. If they're in the early game, it'll be at 4:30 p.m., if they play in the championship game it'll be at 8 p.m. That game can also be seen on Fox Sports Detroit.
WORLD JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIPS
Speaking of those World Junior Championships, both Team Canada and Team USA got off to strong starts to the tournament yesterday.
Andrew Cogliano had two assists to help the Canadians to a 5-1 win over Finland.
Then in the late game, Team USA destroyed Norway, 11-2. Kevin Porter, who has been named captain of Team USA, had a goal and three assists, while Jack Johnson added two helpers.
Both teams are back in action tomorrow night.
Those of you who want to see some of the action, well, if you're in Canada you have no problem with that, but here in the U.S. here are your options.
