Didn't get to listen to the game today since I was out of town, but here's
quick summary: Michigan slaughtered Merrimack.
The Wolverines scored seven goals in the first period, including a hat
trick by Kevin Porter. Freshman Andrew Cogliano finally got on the score
sheet posting two goals and two assists. T.J. Hensick also had a
four-point game with a goal and three assists, while Jack Johnson and
Andrew Ebbett each recorded three points.
Senior netminder Noah Ruden got the nod in net. He played just shy of 50
minutes, giving up both goals and making 25 saves for the win. Mike Mayhew
played the final 10 minutes and turned aside all three shots faced.
Michigan kicks off CCHA play next Saturday when they host Michigan State in
another big showdown. Game time is 7:35 p.m. and it can be seen on Comcast.
Also, the Dekers Blue Line Club will be hosting a pregame tailgate across
from Yost at the Michigan outdoor track. You must register by Oct. 19 to
attend. I've attached the sign up form for anyone interested.
