Michigan 8, Notre Dame 0

Quick update since I didn't get to listen to much of the game.

U-M completed the weekend sweep with an 8-0 whipping of Notre Dame
tonight in South Bend.

Kevin Porter led the way with two goals and two assists, while his
freshman teammate Chad Kolarik netted a goal and two assists. Jeff
Tambellini (2), T.J. Hensick, Eric Werner, and Jason Ryznar added the
other goals.

The Wolverines unleashed 47 shots on goal, while holding the Irish to
only 16 shots.

Al Montoya recorded his 11th career shutout. Morgan Cey stopped 17
of 20 shots in the first period before replaced by David Brown in the
second period. Brown turned aside 22 of 27 shots.

The Wolverines start a home-and-home series against Bowling Green
starting next Friday at Yost.
