HELMINEN TO DEPART ANN ARBOR
Article in today's Ann Arbor News says senior-to-be Dwight Helminen is forgoing his senior year at Michigan to sign with the New York Rangers.
Helminen said he had been comtemplating turning pro all summer and felt it was time for him to go, saying it's a dream for him to play in the NHL and felt this was the best way of doing that. He said he never thought he'd get an opportunity like this.
Just when we thought all was safe and well...
It's too bad Bryan Lerg decommitted from U-M and committed to Michigan State for this fall. This was the opening he was looking for.
