Quick update...

Michigan has advanced to the CCHA Super 6 championship game after burying Northern Michigan, 5-1.

The Wildcats hung in there with the Wolverines for two periods, but U-M scored four times in the third period to put them away.

Brandon Kaleniecki opened the scoring midway through the second period. Kaleniecki notched his second of the night 28 seconds into the third period for a 2-0 lead.

Michigan then scored three goals in a span of 2:33 off the sticks of Jeff Tambellini, David Moss, and T.J. Hensick.

NMU ruined the shutout bid with a goal late in the third period.

Michigan plays the winner of the Ohio State/Miami contest, which is going on right now, tomorrow night at 7:05pm at Joe Louis Arena. The game can been seen on Fox Sports Detroit.
