Michigan kicked off the second half of the season with a bang as they finished off the weekend sweep of Ohio State with a 7-1 thrashing.
Junior forward Dwight Helminen exploded with four goals, which is one more than he's scored all season. Milan Gajic, Brandon Kaleniecki, and Mike Brown added the other goals.
The Wolverines defeated the Buckeyes, 3-2, Friday night on goals by juniors Eric Nystrom, Gajic, and Jason Ryznar.

RECRUITING NEWS
Hockeyscouting.ca has a few short articles and audio clips up from scouting expert Bob Turow of Prospects on Cogliano and Mitera.
The story on Cogliano is what will he end up doing next year. Turow says that Cogliano has dominated Tier II play and while he is small at 5'10, he is an electrifying and special player that should be a very high NHL draft pick. His options next year are USHL, BCHL, and the OHL. Turow says that he thinks Cogliano will change his mind and play for St. Mike's of the OHL citing that NHL scouts would prefer to see how he stacks up against top young, bigger prospects. As far as I can tell, it is just speculation on his part and nothing more.
As for Mitera, Turow is very high on him. Mitera is currently 6'2, 190 and Turow says he could top out at 6'4 or 6'5. He has all the physical tools and good skating ability to become a solid NHL defenseman someday. He says if Mitera keeps developing like he is at the NTDP, watch out!
