So I gotta admit, after watching the final-day Tour de France coverage
on ABC, I was getting all teary over the end of Lance's cycling
career. Who can listen to the National Anthem played in Paris and not
get a little choked up? What a great guy (if horrid taste in women).

Lance lambasted the Europress, too, rather eloquently, I
thought. "I'm sad, sad you can't just appreciate what a wonderful
event and sport this is, no matter who wins it. Vive la tour,
forever." Later one-on-one he said he wouldn't miss opening the paper
and seeing another stupid lie about him. He hasn't ruled out
politics, and already has huge endorsement deals with 24-Hour Fitness
and others.

I was a Lance-come-lately fan, I'll admit, but have grown to admire
him.

As usual, the TDF has gotten me all psyched up to ride more!
