Looks like that bag still requires some sort of a rack set up. Finding
a lightweight rack adaptable to your roadbike may still be a
challenge. Once you have a rack the packing options open up
considerably.
Have you checked crazyguyonabike.com for rider reports of touring
Central Am.? I've read most from the region since I'm interested in
touring the same area. Don't remember reading any accounts of theft
but of course you should always be carefull.
To what extent do you think you will be camping? The hennessey will be
good for stealth camping the odd night, but keep in mind that hotels
in the area are not expensive. You can stay in most places for under
$20 per night... under $10 in alot of the non-coastal areas.
Costa Rica also has some pretty wildly varying temperatures... It
could be 90F in San Jose , yet the same day will be approaching
freezing in the cloudforests.
