My problem with the Propore, when I tried it was that though it is VERY light, it's pretty bulky. I had envisioned it as something I could keep in a jersey pocket on a long day out. It can be carried in a jersey pocket, but only in an awkward, overflowing way.
Hi Mac- So, have you found something light and waterproof that is also more compact than the Propore jacket? I have a Red Ledge I've used for backpacking but it is both bulkier and heavier than the 3M Rainsheild.
BTW, for anyone shopping for a Propore jacket... I have the small cycling jacket that fits pretty tight in the arms. I recently purchased the hooded, non cycling jacket, for hiking. I assumed I needed a medium. The medium was way too large and even the small is somewhat loose. So, IME, the cycling jackets are sized small and the hooded jackets are sized big.
