Yes, thank you for a motivating article. There is something to be said for just going with little planning. It's a bonus when you can get your buddies to go too.
I just recently placed an order for some very light camping equipment. I ordered a Eureka Solitaire tent and Big Agnes pad from campmor, and a North Face propel sleeping bag from REI. The bag is rated at 40 degrees and weighs in at 1lb. 4 oz.
   Anyone have any experience with these items? I plan on using them for my upcoming tour from Astora, Oregon to SF at the beginning of July.
