Belanger returns to Adirondack for fifth season
Glens Falls, NY – The Adirondack Frostbite today re-signed three-time UHL MVP, Hugo Belanger, it was announced today by Frostbite Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Marc Potvin. Belanger will return to Adirondack for his fifth straight season. As per team policy, terms of the agreement are not being disclosed.
Belanger has led the Adirondack franchise in scoring in each of his first four seasons with the club. Last year, he tallied 34 goals and added 69 assists for 103 points, ranking him fourth in the UHL. Belanger also led the league in points his first three years and now has seven straight seasons with at least one hundred points. The Canadian is also a three-time league MVP. Last season Belanger hit the 400 goal mark and 700 assist mark to give him 1,100 points on his professional career. He finished the year with 1,128 career points (412g, 716a). The Clarkson graduate was also named the UHL’s most sportsmanlike player for the past season and made the UHL All-Star team for the fourth straight season. Belanger leads Adirondack All-time in points (480), goals (156), assists (324) and games played (298).
The St. Hubert, Quebec native was drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks in the eighth round (163rd overall) of the 1990 NHL Entry Draft and was the first player to be named MVP of three different professional North American leagues (ECHL, WCHL and UHL).
Season Tickets for the 2004-05 season are on sale now at the Adirondack Frostbite front office located at the Glen Street entrance of the Glens Falls Civic Center. Tickets may be purchased at the office between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Friday or by calling 926-PUCK.
