IceHawks remain winless in shootouts, Fall to Richmond
1-0
GOALIES DICKIE AND GINGRAS TURN IN AWESOME
PERFORMANCES
Adirondack IceHawks Press Release
Glens Falls, NY The IceHawks and RiverDogs had many
scoring opportunities, but it was the goaltending that
shined tonight as Richmond beat Adirondack in a
shootout 1-0. Each goalie was perfect through
regulation: Scott Dickie for the Icehawks making 25
saves and Maxime Gingras for the RiverDogs making 30.
Adirondack could not find a way to score in the
shootout though and suffered their fourth shootout
loss of the season. Richmond remains unbeaten in the
shootout, a perfect 5-0. The IceHawks fall to 7-9-4 on
the season, while Richmond is 13-4-0.
All three periods saw back and forth action with any
breakaway opportunities stopped by either goalie. For
the RiverDogs, they got their best opportunities to
score on the man advantage, but hit the post three
different times tonight and Dickie stood on his head
to make save after save including one very impressive
on late in the third period. The IceHawks had a few
breakaway opportunities of their own including a three
on zero lead by Sylvain Cloutier, but was unable to
score as Gingras came up with some huge saves as well.
The IceHawks return to action tomorrow against
Richmond. It is a post-game skate with a post-game
party to follow in Heritage Hall. Also, bring your
teddy bears for the teddy bear toss. After the first
IceHawks goal throw your teddy bears onto the ice and
they will be distributed to following week to kids in
local hospitals. Opening face off is at 7:35 p.m.
Tickets are on sale now at the Glens Falls Civic
Center or by calling 798-0202. Season seats, group
