Adirondack to hit the road for the holiday

Adirondack IceHawks Press Release

Glens Falls, NY – At the beginning of the second
period the Generals scored on a 5 on 3 to take a
two-goal lead and held the rest of the way to beat the
IceHawks 5-2. Flint got out to an early 2-1 lead on
goals by John DiPace and Kevin Kerr. In the second,
Jim Duhart scored on the 5 on 3 and the Generals added
two in the third to seal the deal. Adirondack got
goals from Frank Littlejohn and Sylvain Cloutier, but
the IceHawks were unable to pick up a point in every
game this week. With the loss, the IceHawks are now
5-7-3 on the season, while Flint is 6-5-2.

Flint opened up a 1-0 lead when DiPace scored just
over a minute into the first period. The IceHawks tied
the game on a Frank Littlejohn goal. Frank put a hard
slap shot in front of the net past Generals goalie Dan
MacIntyre to tie the game at one. The Generals retook
the lead halfway through the period when Kerr scored
his first of two goals on the evening. With time
expired after the first, Jeff Ewasko took a double
minor for roughing and slashing Kevin Kerr, which gave
the Generals a 5 on 3 to start the second period.

Flint took control on the two-man advantage and scored
46 seconds into the period. The Generals were unable
to score with the remaining 5 on 4 advantage and the
IceHawks remained in the game. On a power play of
their own the IceHawks scored a second goal of the
night to make it a one-goal game. Sylvain Cloutier
took a pass from Belanger in front of the net and beat
MacIntyre to make the score 3-2 at the end of two.

In the third, the IceHawks did not come out with the
intensity they had in the second period and the action
was end to end for the majority of the period, with
few scoring chances. There was just under two minutes
to play when the Generals extended their lead to two
goals. Brent Sullivan took a pass from Bobby Reynolds
and from point blank range shot it past Lance Leslie.
The final goal was an empty netter by Kevin Kerr his
second goal of the night.

The IceHawks are in action again Wednesday night at
Port Huron. Game time is set for 7:05 and all the
action can be heard on 98.5 WCKM. The IceHawks return
home Wednesday December 3rd to take on the Jackals. It
is a Will Win Wednesday, which means if the IceHawks
win every fan in attendance receives a complimentary
ticket to the next weekday home game. Also, ticket
stub will be redeemable for an item off the dollar
menu at any Team Reardon McDonald’s. Tickets are on
sale now at the Glens Falls Civic Center or by calling
798-0202. Season seats, group tickets and Flexpacks
are still available for the 2003-04 season by calling
926-PUCK.

Ice Chips: With his goal tonight Littlejohn scored his
100th professional goal and moved into third alone on
the IceHawks all-time scoring list, passing Alex
Deev…. With an assist tonight Belanger has 398 points
in an IceHawks uniform, which puts him two away from
400.
