The Elmira Jackals of the United Hockey League (UHL) announced today
the signing of 11-year veteran defensemen Trevor Burgess. It is the
Jackals 13th player signed for the 2003-2004 season.
In 28 games last year, Burgess recorded 2 goals and 17 assists for 19
points. He joins Cal Benazic, Kris Mallette and John Donnelly on
defense.
"Trevor is one of the smartest players I've coached at this level,"
stated Jackals Head Coach Todd Brost. "He anticipates the play so
well. He will be relied upon heavily this year for his character and
leadership. He will also be the quarterback of our power play with
Benazic."
The Jackals open the regular season on Friday, October 24th vs.
Richmond. The Jackals will have a home pre-season game on Sunday,
October 19th versus Adirondack at 4 pm.
