IceHogs Press Release

Veteran center and another Fan Favorite commits to the IceHogs

Rockford, Ill.- The Rockford IceHogs, proud members of the United
Hockey league, have signed veteran center Dave Paradise for the fast
approaching 2003-04 season. Per club policy, terms of the agreement
were not disclosed.

IceHogs General Manager Ryan Washatka and Head Coach and Director of
Hockey Operations Mark Bernard made the announcement on Tuesday.

Paradise will bring not only experience, but plenty of offensive
ability to the Hogs. The center spent the last four seasons with the
Mississippi Sea Wolves (ECHL). The 5'-10" forward spent the entire
1998-99 season with the Adirondack Red Wings (AHL) after a whirlwind
rookie season that saw Paradise spend time with five different teams
in three leagues.

"In Dave we add an experienced offensive forward that loves to play
the game and is going to be a huge leader in the lockerroom," said
Bernard. "I'm very excited that Dave and his family will be joining
us here in Rockford and I know the fans will enjoy his style of
play."

Last year, Paradise piled up 75 points and 143 penalty minutes in 65
games with the Wolves, including 39 goals and 36 assists which was
good for second on the team. The center had 25 multi-point games and
nine multi-goal games while being named Mississippi's Fan Favorite.

The St. Paul, Minnesota native scored 106 goals during his four year
stint in Mississippi. Paradise helped lead the Sea Wolves into the
ECHL Playoffs during the last two seasons and had 10 goals and 14
assists in 20 post season affairs.

We just had our second child (on August 11) and we wanted to move a
little closer to home," said Paradise. "My decision had a lot to do
with talking to Mark and I thought it was a good move for my family.
On paper it looks like Mark is putting together a real good team and
I'm excited to be a part of it."

er completing a four-year career at St. Cloud State University, where
he is the school's all-time leader for penalty minutes (297) and
short-handed goals (9), Paradise made an immediate impact with the
Peoria Rivermen (ECHL) in 1997-98. In Paradise's first seven games
with Peoria, the center scored 10 goals including goals in six of the
seven games.

The quick start earned the first year player a series of promotions
to the now defunct International Hockey League. Paradise saw action
with the Chicago Wolves, Detroit Vipers and Quebec Rafales, and also
with the Saint John Flames (AHL) during his first pro season.

With Paradise signed, the IceHogs have 12 players locked up for the
2003-04 season. Forwards Chris Bell, Steve Cygan, Kenzie Homer, Don
Margettie, Kelly Miller, Reggie Savage and Maris Ziedins along with
defenseman John Glavota and net-minders Will Hamele and Ron Vogel are
all signed for the 2003-04 season.
