The Muskegon Fury front office is calling the signing of Jeff Nelson,
probably the biggest in the history of the Muskegon Fury.
Nelson, the younger brother of Fury head coach Todd Nelson, is a 12-
year pro with impressive credentials, all at higher levels in hockey.
Jeff Nelson, a forward, played 52 games in the National Hockey League
with the Washington Capitals and Nashville Predators. Most of his
career has been in the American Hockey League and the now-defunct
International Hockey League. He's played in such places as Baltimore,
Portland, Grand Rapids, Milwaukee and Cleveland. In all, he played
692 regular-season games in the AHL and IHL and has played 804 in his
professional career.

Last season, defenseman Frederic Bouchard played hockey in Germany.
While in Europe, he traveled to such exotic locales as Italy, Austria
and Switzerland.
"It was a good experience, a great experience," Bouchard said. "The
coach there was unique, and I got to travel a lot. The fans were
great."
The Komets announced Tuesday that Bouchard, who had previously played
parts of three seasons with the franchise, signed with the team for
the 2003-2004 season. Fort Wayne also inked forward Josh Tataryn and
defenseman Mark Cole.
