ISSUE:

US Congressman Ron Paul of Texas has a remarkable idea. The Internal Revenue
Code is forever being adjusted and patched up by politicians on Capitol Hill.
 Lawmakers continually fiddle with this section and that paragraph, keeping
the income tax code sputtering along.  

Congressman Paul doesn't want to repair or renovate the Income Tax Code.

Ron Paul wants to junk the income tax altogether.

Rep. Paul has introduced House Joint Resolution 45, the Liberty Amendment,
which aims to repeal the 16th Amendment.  The 16th Amendment is the
foundation for all the annual tax headaches of Americans.  Repeal the 16th
Amendment, and the Internal Revenue Service, its Code, and unfair taxes
become a memory.  

The United States could return to its truly Constitutional tax system of
excises, posts and duties.

America did just fine for almost 140 years without a federal income tax,
according to Rep. Paul.  We could prosper once again without it.

ACTION ITEM:

Sign the Petition to Republican and Democrat leaders in the House of
Representatives, urging them to pass House Joint Resolution 45, the Liberty
Amendment.
