Did anyone find a white ucla ultimate sweatshirt? Or did anyone
pick an extra one up by accident? Mine has my name on the tag.
Thanks guys,

hey blu,
i know it's a long shot but it's worth it...did anyone find a black ipod at
socal warmup? it had bright green headphones. i had it in my backpack with the
rest of my stuff on the sideline and was wondering if anyone picked it up.

Last weekend the people at Rigby's house watched Sister Act (1) and it was amazing and fun. So, I thought I'd host a Sister Act 2 viewing at my place today. Don't worry if you've never seen the first one, this is one of the only sequels I know that could totally stand alone as a fantastic and still quite funny movie.
So if you're interested come by my place at 5:30! Feel free to bring hw or whatever else you might feel like.
For those of you still not convinced/those of you who have no idea what it's about- picture it: Whoopi Goldberg disguised as a nun with Maggie Smith (Prof Mogonagal) teaching a high school choir in the SF ghetto how to sing to save the school.
Welcome to the Informational Email for SoCal Warm-Up, Fall '09. WOOHOO!
We will be hosted by the lovely and gracious families of our very own SPLASH and Tux, as well as some of the girls from the UCSD Psychos (yay for making friends!)
All cars will be meeting in front of De Neve turn-around (for the dormies) unless your driver lets you know otherwise. Departure time is 10:30AM on SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 21st, and our first game is at 2:15PM.
Why is there so much time allotted for driving 2 hours, you may ask? Well, this extended time period is to encourage everyone to get some breakfast in beautiful San Diego, chillax with your teammates, visit the beach, go to the fields, and watch some awesome ultimate (you can learn a lot by watching other players; just think: what would you do in that position? what did they do? did it work? why/why not? etc.)
Reminder: Please put your driver's phone number in your phone and be sure to make contact with her before Friday evening, and not at some obscene hour of the dark. Feel free to offer witty jokes as well.
What To Bring: - team shirt (If you still haven't gotten your dues in, you need to do that now. Not ASAP, but Now. No dues, no shirt. No shirt, no shoes, no service, no playing. Get on that.)
- white shirt - sports bra and underwear - gray / black / navy blue shorts - underarmour / long sleeves / leggings / compression shorts / spandex (optional)
- sweats / jackets - socks (bring extras) - cleats - a disc - nalgene - hats or visors (optional) - sunscreen - sleeping bag - pillow - sleeping pad
- pajamas - toiletries - towel - money - your UCLA ID (it helps us with the UCSD facilities)

Hi Blu
Sorry to spam, but I brought Double Up's disk to practice yesterday and completely forgot about it at the end. It has his name on it too, so if anyone knows where it is/has it, please please PLEASE let me know, as I feel like quite a terrible friend at the moment for neglecting his disk. Thanks!
So there is still one more spot in FFC (friday fun car!) I realized I didn't make the offer that appealing the first time around so I thought I'd give it another shot.. I have a trampoline, theres a pool and jacuzzi within walking distance, GOLDEN SPOON, delicious SD mexican food, PS3, Wii, gamecube, nintendo 64, comfy beds, and perhaps most importantly.. my mom's baked goodies. Don't be shy =]
I'm going to hold a fitness assessment for some returners who expressed interest, and I'd like to extend the opportunity to everyone. I think it's just interesting to do, but the basic idea is that you could do it again later in the year and see your improvements. It may also be useful in highlighting areas for you to work on over winter break. I'm gonna do it before practice on Wednesday at 5:45 at Drake if you are available and interested. Hopefully we'll have a chance to do it another time, like 10th week, if you're interested and can't make tomorrow. Don't worry if you're feeling out of shape, because that's part of the point of a baseline measure: so you can see your own improvement.
The assessment will include:
100m sprint (on track)
Mile (on track)
Shuttle Run (on grass with cleats)
Throwing accuracy
-Alex
PS If you're injured, you should probably hold off, unless you want the ego boost of improving your mile time from 13 minutes or so down to a reasonable number :-)
Hey Drivers/Food Buyers,
So I was thinking of the best (fastest) ways to do reimbursement forms and I had
an idea. If you're amenable, I'd like to have a roster of our regular
drivers/buyers with all the generic information the club sports forms require:
name, address (city/state/zip), phone, email. That way, instead of
drivers/buyers having to fill out the forms, I could do them all at once.
I'd keep the list myself (it's not getting sent to a third party, spammed around
the ucla_blu list, etc.). Generally, it would just be easier for me if I could
write up the club sports forms ASAP after tournaments myself--instead of
bringing forms to practice. That means all you would have to do, as
drivers/buyers, would be to submit the appropriate statements/receipts--as
always.
In response, just say "No, I'd rather not submit my information. I would rather
fill out the forms individually myself for each reimbursement" or "Sure, my name
is _____, my address is _______, etc"
Please let me know what you think of this idea.

Heyo,
First off, YAY SOCAL WARMUP!!! We are staying at my house and I was planning on driving home Friday afternoon to hang out at home for the night/do something fun. I'm planning on leaving at 2 and was wondering if anyone would want to join me and come chill in San Diego for a night. Just email me back and let me know =]
If you already filled this out, thanks! If you already paid, DOUBLE THANKS! But there are a LOT of you who I know want one and haven't filled this form out yet. So DO IT!
You have until 11:59pm WEDNESDAY, Nov 18, that is TOMORROW!!!
Dear Everyone, UCLA Bruin Ladies Ultimate sportsbras are happening! They are awesome and you will look even more awesome than you already do. They are black with a light blue BLU on the front and a yellow UCLA logo on the back (pending club sports approval coming soon...) Sizes are S, M and L.
So order up! They are $20 each.
Some people have been wondering what BLU is looking for in a player, so I just wanted to address that question. The four most important things are: an eagerness to work hard, aggressiveness/ competitiveness, athleticism and skills.
I'd be happy to answer anymore specific questions.

Anyone interested to throw with me today, Thursday at about 4.45pm til whenever?
Meet me at the grass between Haines and Powell; if you prefer, we can go to the
IM fields.
Please send me a text or give me a call so I know someone is coming.
I will have one disc. :)
Hope to hear from you!
Jazzzzmine Lim.
626 652 5150
Hopefully you have all had a lovely morning and ample opportunity to sleep in.
Just a reminder that we will be having practice today on the IM fields from 3-5, as the lights will not be turned on for us tonight due to the holiday.
ALSO, FALL QUARTER TEES ARE HERE!
In order to pick up your shirt, please make sure you bring your dues in to Kodi. We won't be giving out shirts until we get your dues. This is important because you will need your shirt to play in Sean Ryan this weekend. Also, because the shirts are American Apparel v-necks and you will look very cool in them, and therefore you will want one.
If you've already gotten your dues in, then you're good to go.
Hey BLU,
I left my Big 5 ultimate disc at practice yesterday. If anyone picked
it up (it has my name on the back), let me know at
elizabethcase@... and I'll catch you at practice tomorrow!
-Elizabeth
For those of you that are interested I'm going to teach some more advanced handling techniques after practice on Wednesday. So stick around if that sounds fun and you've got nothing better to do. -Alex
PS Again this assumes that you're already a reasonable thrower. If you're not comfortable with the disc then it's probably best to spend that time throwing.
Hope you all had a fantastic weekend. We're quickly approaching 7th week which not only means that we have two great fun filled weekends of Ultimate coming up, but also that the end of the quarter is within sight.
Come winter quarter both BLU and Midas will be practicing three times a week, and the expectation will be to attend all three practices in order to create a team that builds upon itself in order to improve. With that foundation and expectation for winter quater, it is important to attend as many practices as you can (preferably all three) these next few weeks. This way we can operate with the same core knoweldge and show our mad frisbee skillzz all the time at both tournaments and practices. If you are not able to make it to a practice, please e-mail us to let us know.
Wednesday is Veteran's
Day and also a school holiday, therefore school is closed. We will be practicing Wednesday on the IM fields from 3- 5 while it is still light out.
Additionally, we will not have practice this Friday because we will be on route to Santa Cruz for a fabulous weekend of Ultimate.
As always, please do not hestitate to ask us with any questions.
