From: Yoda <yoda@...> Subject: Scheduling your classes for Winter quarter To: rinkratkc@... Date: Monday, October 27, 2008, 5:53 PM
Hey Wam, can you fwd this email to the womens list for me? thanks
I know it feels like school just started, but UCLA just posted the course times for next quarter so I'm going to take this opportunity to tell you about one of my pet projects.
a long time ago, in a land far far away, I created the "Satyanash Scheduler". It was a java applet that loaded the course database from the university and allowed you to enter your scheduling preferences (no class fridays, before 10, or after 6, etc...). It was pretty nifty, and made it a LOT easier to deal with registering for classes.
I've recently ported this application to facebook, and
updated it with the course timings for the upcoming winter quarter. you can find it here: http://apps.facebook.com/fbschedules/
I've tested it thoroughly on windows/firefox, I think there may be a
weird UI issue on MACs, but it *should* be ok if you use firefox on your
mac. internet explorer should also work fairly well if you have a recent
version
I encourage you all to try it out, and see for yourselves how much
easier it makes course registration. It also has an invite dialog that
you can use to tell your friends about it. If you know people at other
schools, I'm currently supporting the following:
RPI (Rensselaer)
Univ. Maryland (College Park)
Univ. Maryland (Baltimore)
Berkeley
Ohio State
UPenn
Univ.Michigan
if you have any questions/comments/concerns about the app feel free to
send me an email.
